Forensic Interviews

Once a disclosure or report of child abuse has been made, The Children's Place coordinates with the local law enforcement agency and the department of human resources to have a forensic interview completed. Interviews are conducted only in the event of an investigation and by referral of an investigative agency.

Forensic Interviews are conducted by a trained interviewer who question the child in a compassionate, child appropriate way. The purpose of forensic interviews is to gain factual information related to the abuse experienced. The investigative team watches the interview via CCTV recording.
